The Highland Avenue Brownfield Redevelopment Project

The Highland Avenue Community Brownfield Opportunity Area Project seeks to use remediation of contaminated urban land as an engine for neighborhood planning and regeneration.  The goal of the initiative is to work with the City of Niagara Falls and community residents and organizations to forge and implement a strategy to remediate the brownfields and to transform the physical environment and energize the neighborhood economy.  Given the severity of the brownfields problem in rust belt cities and in the Western New York region, the Highland Avenue Project will deepen our knowledge of how to transform these communities into healthy, stable and prosperous communities.
